Document Description
The project involves the approval of a Modification Permit to the Municipal Code to allow the construction of concrete retaining walls that range in height from 6 feet to 20 feet 6 inches high in rear yard. In accordance with Section 20.33 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code the approval of a modification permit is required for the height and location of the proposed retaining walls. The approval will allow for the construction of retaining walls which exceed the permitted 6 foot height limit in the setback area. The proposed retaining walls will stabilize and unsafe slope and reclaim a portion of the rear yard lost due to erosion. The retaining walls will reclaim approximately 29 feet of rear yard surface area previously slope.
