Document Description
The VVWRA intends to install adequate facilities at its existing wastewater reclamation facility, which is a regional facility serving of the Victor Valley, to increase its average daily treatment capacity by 1.5 mgd, from 9.5 mgd to 11.0 mgd. The treatment plant facilities will be upgraded, expanded and modified to treat the additional 1.5 mgd that will be delivered to the plant as a byproduct of area growth. Percolation ponds (up to 50 acres) will be installed to percolate the additional secondary treated effluent produced by the plant expansion. Also evaluated in this Initial Study is a proposed solid waste management facility that will collect construction and demolition waste and organic matter for recycling, compositing and transfer. This facility would initially occupy about 20 acres of VVWRA property and could ultimately occupy an additional 50 acres. Up to 135,000 tons of waste material could be stored and processed on the project site.
