Document Description
The Yuba River Debris Commission Project is jointly maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the California Department of Water Resources. The facilities to be repaired include some rock groins (also know as "wing dams') and associated riprap bank protection that were damaged by the floods of 1997 and 1998. Facility damage was initiated by erosion of the soil under and behind these rock structures during high flood flows, which then resulted in sloughing and offsite movement of portions of the rock structures themselves.
