The project is limited to the following activities in the concrete-lined channel: 1- a once per year vegetation removal encompassing areas up to 15 feet in width and to 1,500 linear feet in total cumulatively per annum including trees under 4-inches in diameter at breast height (DBH); 2- a once per year removal of up to 350 cubic yards of accumulated sediment from the concrete floor of the channel within the same footprint as the vegetation removal (1,500 linear feet cumulatively per annum) by small, rubber-tracked equipment and hauled off-site; 3- temporarily covering the low-flow channel with steel plates to prevent mechanized equipment from entering wetted areas; 4- temporary dewatering of stream reaches. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2014-0403-R3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Mark Dettle/City of Santa Cruz Department of Public Works.
