Document Description
The Federal Highway Administration [ FHWA ], as lead agency in cooperation with the Los Padres National Forest, is proposing to replace two bridges on Arroyo Seco Road (County Road G17). This five-mile route follows the general direction of the Arroyo Seco River in Monterey County. It begins at the intersection with Carmel Valley Road (County Road G17) and ends 0.3 miles west of the Arroyo Seco River crossing in the USFS Arroyo Seco Recreation Complex. The bridges will be replaced in approximately the same locations as the existing bridges. Both bridges are designed to the California standard width of 32 feet with an additional 4 feet for sidewalks. The new bridges are designed to pass a 100-year flood event. The road will be kept open and access will be maintained at both sites during construction.
