Document Description
The proposed project would construct a three-story building approximately 75,000 gross square feet on surface Parking Lot 32 in the Southwest zone of the Los Angeles campus to temporarily accommodate the programs of various campus buildings that must be vacated while those buildings undergo seismic renovation. Initially, proposed Southwest Campus Staging Building would accommodate programs from the Dickson Art Center and Dance Buildings scheduled to undergo renovation. Following completion of the Dickson Art Center and Dance Buildings Seismic renovation projects the Southwest Campus Staging Building would be used to accommodate programs of other campus buildings proposed for seismic renovation. Construction of the Southwest Campus Staging Building is anticipated to begin on March 2000, with a completion date of May 2001, followed by the seismic renovation of the Dickson Art Center and Dance Buildings anticipated to begin on June 2001 and August 2001, respectively. The proposed project is consistent with the UCLA Long Range Development Plan. The cumulative impacts of the project were analyzed in the Final EIR for the 1990 Long Range Development Plan.
