The present land use of the property consists of approximately 55 acres which have been actively mined to a depth of 80 feet and approximately 25 acres that have been disturbed from site clearing, construction of ground water recharge levees, and a haul road for large off-road trucks used to deliver aggregate material to the Orange Street Processing Plant located west of the project site
Document Description
The project is a conditional use permit for a revision to an approved Reclamation Plan for a surface mining operation encompassing 80 acres known as the Redlands Aggregate Pit South Quarry. The proposed revisions include: 1) increase the depth of the pit from the permitted depth of 80 feet to a proposed depth of 120 feet; 2) delete a planned processing plant at the southwest corner of the site (approximately 4 acres) and include anexcavation area. The Revised Reclamation Plan is submitted for the project site in accordance with section 2770 et seq. of the State Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA) and in accordance with Chapter 18.226 of the Redlands Municipal Code.
