Document Description
The proposed project consists of office renovation and facilities improvements to the California Highway Patrol's (CHP) South Sacramento Area Office. The project would include construction of a new vehicle service building, and acquisition and development of an adjacent property to be used for CHP secured parking. The project would enclose the existing vehicle service area, and provide interior improvements to expand office space and upgrade common areas to meet ADA standards. The State plans to acquire an adjacent 15,137 square foot vacant lot which is presently owned by Caltrans. The CHP facility currently has 50 assigned vehicles including 10 motorcycles, and also has to accomodate a number of vehicles waiting for inspection or salvage. Parking lot improvements include seal coating and restriping the existing lot, and the adjacent parcel would be graded, paved, striped, and enclosed within a new boundary fence. The proposed new Auto Services Building would be 2,394 square feet in size, constructed with metal siding and roofing, and would contain an office and storage area and three auto service bays.
