In Cooperation with Deer Creek Irrigation District, Stanford Vina Irrigation Company and California Department of Fish and Game, the Northern District Department of Water Resources is reviewing the feasibility of a Deer Creek water exchange program. The overall objectives of the program would be to develop a groundwater-surface water exchange program within the lower Deer Creek drainage. Some of the program goals are to:
Provide adequate transportation flows for Steelhead and Spring-Run Chinook salmon;
Allow for reimbursement of existing bypass flows voluntary provided by DCID and SVIC;
Maintain the existing quality and quantity of groundwater resources within DCID and SVIC.
