Document Description
The Mammoth Bar Off Highway Vehicle Area (MBOHVA) is located in the western end of the 40,000 acres Auburn State Recreation Area in Placer County. MBOHVA is approximately 900 acres and is within thirty five minutes drive from the city of Sacramento. MBOHVA accommodates two wheeled motorcycles and terrain vehicles. Funding for operations and maintenance related activities is made available via a grant from the Department of Parks and Recreation's Off Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and in turn administered by the American River State Park District. This grant will fund ongoing visitor services, facility maintenance & housekeeping, deferred maintenance, facility operations, resource monitoring, trail maintenance & rehabilitation, and resource conservation.
