Document Description
The proposed project is to convert the existing Hollister Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant to allow a year-round operation and treatment of both industrial wastewater / storm drainage and domestic wastewater at the facility, in addition to the seasonal cannery waste load. The project would utilize the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant for domestic wastewater treatment and disposal until an alternative treatment and disposal facility is planned, permitted, and constructed. The proposed diversion of domestic wastewater to the IWTP would increase the amount of domestic effluent that could be treated in Hollister from 2.69 MGD (the permitted capacity of the DWTP) to 3.21 MGD. The project would allow the City to treat and dipose of domestic wastewater on a year-round basis at the IWTP, and to divert flows away from the DWTP during non-cannery times of year.
