Document Description
The managed marsh complex will provide mitigation for certain biological impacts caused by the Transfer Project and IID's on-going operations and maintenance activities in the Imperial Valley and Salton Sea area. The Supplement updates portions of the IID Water Conservation and Transfer Project EIR/EIS as required to evaluate four potential sites for the managed marsh complex; the impacts of designating the site and creating and managing the marsh and native tree habitat thereon; and the potential conveyance of an easement over, or conveyance of fee title to, the site to the California Department of Fish and Game. The managed marsh complex will be comprised of up to 959 acres of habitat, consisting of approximately 618 acres of marsh habitat (open water and emergent vegetation) and 341 acres of non-emergent vegetation (native tree and shrub habitat).
