Document Description
The purpose of the EIR is to evaluate the impacts associated with the adoption and implementation of the Gustine General Plan. The proposed planning area encompasses the incorporated City (875 acres), and roughly 2,424 acres of adjacent agricultural land. The City's airport, wastewater treatment plant and the area for future plant expansion are all included in the above acreages. The City has been careful to define a planning area that minimizes growth impacts to prime agricultural land and to wetlands. Approximately 810 acres or 32% of the land within the proposed planning area is designated Agricultural-Commercial and is expected to remain in agricultural uses. Much of the wastewater treatment plant expansion area is expected to be used to create seasonal wetlands in conjunction with the land application of treated wastewater.
