Document Description
Duke Energy North America (DENA) plans to remove the following aboveground oil fuel storage tanks and appurtenant equipment at the South Bay Power Plant (SBPP) in Chula Vista: three oil storage tanks, a cutter stock tank, and all associated piping and pump station equipment down to a depth of four feet below grade. Furthermore, DENA plans to remove the following aboveground oil fuel storage tanks and appurtenant equipment at the 24th Street Terminal Refueling Facility National City site (NCA): two oil storage tanks, one cutter stock tank, and all associated piping and pump station equipment located on the site down to a depth of four feet below grade. Prior to tank removal, DENA will have removed all oil from the tanks, cleaned them, and disposed of any asbestos-contaminated material. DENA plans to demolish and remove the cleaned tanks and appurtenant equipment. Once all facilities and any oil-contaminated material are removed from the site, DENA will grade the sites. DENA has no plans at this time for future development of either project site.
