Document Description
The Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Services (DOJ) is proposing to enter into a long-term lease with the City of Santa Barbara. This proposed action is limited only to the lease of the property. The Dept. of general Services and the Dept. of Justice are proceeding with the lease negotiations and the initial planning of a proposed forensic lab at this site. The lab will be the subject of environmental document. The property will remain in its existing condition until the environmental review process has been completed and the development project is approved. It is anticipated that there would be no significant impacts for the forensic lab project and that a Negative Declaration would be prepared.
