Document Description
Repair and replacement of existing stairway from blufftop to beach, adjacent to Parking Lot 6. The stairway will be reoriented so that it will switchback at mid-oiubt, towards the toe of the bluff. The existing concrete landing will be reomved down to the bedrock and be replaced with a similar concrete landing at the new terminus of the stairway. The existing pilings will be used to support the new stairway, and four additional new wood pilings and concrete caissons will be required to support the mid-point landing. The design and materials to be used will be similar to those used on the existing stairway. During the construction phase of the project equipment and materials will be stage in the northern portion of Parking Lot 6. Existing Coastal Access parking spaces located in this area will be temporarily relocated in the sourther portion of Parking Lot 6. This project will replace deteriorated portions of the existing stairway, which currently poses a safety hazard.
