This property (APN's 9-56-06 & 23) includes approximately 46 acres and contains important elements of serveral exosystems which it shares with the adjacent Empire Mine State Historic Park. The meadow is likely to be the best example of what the Grass Valley area looked like prior to early development. Few low elevation montaie meadows remain intact and this meadow represents an ecosystem jno rare in California.
