Document Description
The proposed project is a Use Permit modification for an agricultural research facility. In 1999, Seminis Vegetable Seeds, Inc. was approved for a Use Permit modification (ZF #99-040) involving a 56,750 sf office, 9,800 sf research laboratory building, and various ancillary agricultural structures totaling ~295,000 sf. Since the approval in 1999, Seminis has only constructed ~42,000 sf of building. The intent of the proposed Use Permit modification (ZF 2009-006) is to amend the number and size of future buildings on the site over the next 5 to 10 years. Seminis is proposing to add 168,000 sf of total building area, including a new 85,000 sf office and laboratory building (of which 56,750 sf was approved by ZF#99-040) and 138,360 sf of agricultural support and storage.
