The proposed project site is located within the Inglewood Oil Fields, in the unincorporated Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles County California, situated less than a quarter mile south of Kenneth Hahn (previously known as Baldwin Hills) State Recreation Area. The project seeks to develop active recreational facilities on two parcels as a expansion of the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area. The two subject parcels represent the undeveloped portion of an approximate 31-acre property purchased by the County of Los Angeles (County) specifically for park development in 1996. The property is under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation (Department).
