Document Description
As an element of the City's General Plan, the Bicycle Plan has the comprehensive scope and juridictional authority required to coordinate the provision of all bicycle related plans, programs, and projects. The Bicycle Plan (entitled Century of Bikes Bicycle Plan 1999) established goals which serve as the long-term vision and foundation of the plan. The Goals are supported by programs to implement 'the vision of the Goals' over the life of the Bicycle Plan. Aside from the City's Mobility Element of the 1994 Pasadena General Plan which calls for developing a citywide bikeway system and increasing the use of bicycling and walking, the proposed improvements contained within the Bicycle Plan are intended to meet regional, state, and federal guidelines in order to qualify the City for external funding sources.
