The Corps, in conjunction with CVWD, proposes to construct various improvements to control flooding in the Thousand Palms area and, as a secondary abjective, to transport sand to the Coachella Valley Preserve (Preserve) in order to replenish the sand dune habitat of the threatened Coachella Valley fringe-toed lizard. NOP was filed by the Coachella Valley Water District. Subsequently, the joint Draft EIR / EIS has been filed by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
