Document Description
In order to provide additional capacity for high occupancy vehicle lanes along Highway 680, the operator proposes to widen the existing bridge over Grayson Creek in Pacheco, Contra Costa County. The existing bridge will be widened approximately 30-50 feet to the east and approximately 40-50 feet to the west (including a separate structure). Widening the bridge will include the installation of approximately 112-16 inch diameter pre-cast concrete columns, that will be driven into the bed and banks of the creek. Forty-two piles will be driven on the east side and 70 piles will be driven on the west side of the existing bridge. In addition to the new columns, the existing columns, fitted with corrugated metal sleeves, will be retrofitted by installing a steel sleeve around the existing outfall structures within the project footprint area will be relocated outside of the new bridge edge. Two are on the north bank, west of the bridge, one is on the south bank east of the bridge, and one is on the southwest corner of the existing structure.
