Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc., proposes to inject potassium permanganate through wells into groundwater to induce the chemical oxidation of mineral spirits, petroleum hydrocarbon constituents, halogenated hydrocarbons, and other chemical contaminants in groundwater. The project may influence groundwater for approximately 80 radial feet around each of two wells which will be used for injection to restore groundwater quality.
