Document Description
The project proposes the potential development of the Hudner and Renz properties to expand the recreational facilities of the Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA). The primary purpose of the Hudner and Renz Acquisitions is to provide additional controlled off Highway Vehicle (OHV) recreational opportunities for the users of Hollister Hills SVRA. Adoption of the Draft General Development Plan Amendent (GDPA) would amend the existing General Development Plan for the existing Hollister Hills SVRA that was adopted in 1978, by including these additional acquisition parcels in the area available for OHV recreation.
The Hollister Hills SVRA Draft GDPA, which represents a revised version of the GDPA published in May 1996, provides guidlines for the long-term management and development of the acquisitions. The GDPA describes the resources of acquisition areas, identifies the proposed buffer zones, documents the planning process, identifies policies for proper management and proposes improvements. The plan provides sufficient detail for the OHMVRD to proceed with the projects discussed in the plan, including the construction of trails, picnic areas, camping areas, staging areas and entrances.
