Document Description
The Sonoma County Community Development Commission in its Capacity as the governing board of the Sonoma County Community Development Agency, and in cooperation with the County of Sonoma, is proposing to consider adoption and implementation of a redevelopment program for the predominantly urbanized Russian River corridor, including a redevelopment plan and a set of associated general plan amendments for up to six sites within the corridor. The proposed redevelopment Project Area boundary encompasses approximately 1,830 acres located along the Russian River between Rio Nido and Villa Grande. The primary intent of the redevelopment program is to overcome adverse physical and economic blight and blighting influences and to foster revitalization and increased private economic investment in the Project Area. These objectives would be achieved through implementation of a combination of redevelopment activities including, but not limited to, blight removal, building rehabilitation, public infrastructure improvement, tourism and economic development, business district revitalization, park and recreation facilities improvement, and affordable housing improvements.
