Document Description
In accordance with State law, the City of Oakland on Dec. 21, 2010 adopted a General Plan Amendment - Housing Element 2007-2014, as part of the City's General Plan. The City must accommodate 14,629 new housing units between Jan. 2007 and June 2014 to meet its "fair share" of housing need, known as the Regional Housing Needs Allocation. The City can accommodate the new housing without rezoning or further General Plan amendments, through current opportunity sites, and with projects either built, under construction, approved or in predevelopment.
