Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement R3-2002-0010 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Scott Goldie / Granite Management Corporation. The applicant proposes the removal of vegetation to 6 inches above the ground surface or to the water line if water is present in the South Valley Channel Wetland. The work will be accomplished by a tractor-towed, side-cuttor device, or a hand-held, gas powered weed cutter where the ground is saturated or inundated, or too steep to use a tractor. The vegetation is being removed to accommodate a Multisensor Towed Array Detection System (MTADS) for the location and removal of Ordnance and Explosives anomalies. The project is located in the hills to the southeast of Lake Herman, in the City of Benicia in Solano County. Access to the site is at the intersection of Rose Drive and McAllister Drive, west of Second Street in the City of Benicia.
