Document Description
The Stored Water Recovery Unit (proposed project) would increase the rate at which stored water could be recovered, from the present project maximum of 223,000 acre-feet per year and minimum of 90,000 acre-feet per year, to a maximum of 423,000 acre-feet per year and a minimum of approximately 290,000 acre-feet per year. This would be accomplished by developing a well field, with approximately 65 water wells having a total withdrawal capacity of 150,000 acre-feet per year, on approximately six square miles of largely undeveloped land in the northwest portion of the District (within T25S and T26S, R22E), adjacent to the Kern National Wildlife Refuge, as shown on the enclosed map. An additional 50,000 acre-feet per year of stored water could be withdrawn from existing farm wells.
