The project site is located entirely within the City of Simi Valley. The Simi Valley General Plan designates the area as Medium Density Residential. The site is within the area zoned R-E-IAC. The site is currently a flood control channel.
Document Description
The project consists of replacing 2,900 feet of existing trapezoidal concrete channel that was damaged in the 1994 Northridge earthquake with a reinforced concrete open rectangular channel capable of conveying a 100-year storm flow. The new channel will be approximately 7 to 17 feet wide. The capacity of the channel will be 7,500 cubic feet per second. Access will be from existing access points at Stearns and Stow Streets. Construction is expected to commence in June 1999 and be completed by December 1999.
