The project will construct a modern science facility (#180) that will accommodate enrollment growth to the master plan enrollment ceiling of 17,500 FTE. The project involves the replacement of Cal Poly's 1962 sprawling, one-story science building located in the heart of the Cal Poly campus (#52). This project will also provide an expansion of the Central Plant and extension to the Utildor Distribution System for the heating and chilled water to support the Center for Science and have capacity to feed other campus buildings currently operating with inefficient and costly local boilers.
