Document Description
LGS proposes to rework one gas storage well and one observation well in the Lodi Gas Field. The project activities being permitted by the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) are within the scope of the Lodi Gas Storage Project Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The reworks involve hydrostatically controlling the well, pulling the tubing, and performing a casing inspection and pressure test. Surface piping for Seifert D-1 would be constructed to tie-in the wellhead to the existing on-lease piping system. Well Loma D-5 will have an extra step where existing liner screen assembly is finished out and replaced. The final EIR discusses the continual maintenance (rework) of gas storage facilities due to safety considerations, as well as the maintenance (rework) for monitoring parameters. The rework of the wells will ensure compliance with revised regulations, Cal. Code Regs., tit. 14, § 1726 et seq., to enhance the safety of underground gas storage (UGS) projects.
