Document Description
This project involves the widening of Valley Center Road for a distance of 5.98 miles, from 0.50 miles south of the City of Escondido/County of San Diego corporate boundary, northward to the intersection of Cole Grade Road in the community of Valley Center. The purpose of the project is to improve public safety, impove traffic circulation, and convey the expected traffic resulting from current and future development in the Valley Center area. Valley Center Road would be widened to modified Major Road status, consistent with its Circulation Element status The road would be improved from a two to three-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway with medians and bike lanes where appropriate.
