Document Description
The project is a 0.5 mgd expansion of a previously approved project to provide 13.0 mgd treatment capacity at the existing San Luis Rey Wastewater Treatment Plant (SLRWTP) (Final EIR for the SLRWTP Interim Expansion 1995). The proposed project would allow interim improvements to the existing treatment plant to improve efficiency and better control odor. In addition, improvements would allow treatment of an additional 0.5 mgd to serve increased capacity needs requested by the Rainbow Water District. The district has requested an increase in its contractual service agreement to receive an increase in treatment capacity from 1.0 mgd to 1.5 mgd at the SLRWTP.
