Document Description
The Project as originally permitted by the above referenced ITP allowed for permanent disturbance of up to 1,700 acres within a 21,800-acre area by Nuevo Energy Company/Torch Operating Company associated with oil and gas exploration. The ITP transferred to Plains Exploration and Production Company (PXP) and then again to Freeport-McRoRan Oil and Gas as a result of a subsequent sales and/or mergers. San Joaquin kit fox and San Joaquin antelope squirrel are designated as threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA), and Bakersfield cactus, giant kangaroo rat, and Tipton kangaroo rat are designated as endangered species under CESA. CDFW issued the ITP and Amendment No. 1.
