Document Description
The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) adopted an Addendum to the previous Negative Declaration and approved the Hazardous Waste Facility Standardized Permit to continue operating a Hazardous Waste Treatment and Storage Facility for Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste, pursuant to authority granted under California Health and Safety Code Chapter 6.5 and California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20. The term of this permit is ten years from the date of issuance. Hazmat TSDF Inc. (Facility) treats, stores, and disposes of hazardous waste. The wastes that are accepted by the Facility are limited to wastes that are not fully regulated as hazardous wastes under RCRA. These wastes would be considered RCRA hazardous wastes but are exempted or excluded from federal facility requirements. Additionally, Hazmat also accepts wastes that are regulated as hazardous wastes only in California. Waste types accepted include oil filters, fuel filters, empty containers, used oil, aerosol cans, absorbents, soils, and solid debris from off-site generated hazardous waste. Because the permitted activities are consistent with operations of a previously approved project, DTSC has prepared an addendum to a previously adopted negative declaration (State Clearinghouse No. 2013021041) consistent with Public Resources Code section 21166 and California Code of Regulations, Title 14, sections 15162-15164.
