Document Description
The project will expand the AWPF to accommodate more flow from the Orange County Sanitation District Wastewater Treatment Plant 1, equalize flows in the AWPF to maximize operation capability, recharge the groundwater Basin, and augment the existing seawater intrusion barrier. The project consists of 1) expanding the AWPF capacity to 100 million gallons per day and adding ~31,000 acre-feet per year of treated recycled water to the Orange County groundwater basin, 2) constructing additional microfiltration, reverse osmosis, ultraviolet disinfection and post-treatment facilities, 3) installing two 7.5 million gallon storage tanks, 4) demolishing an existing laboratory building, and 5) installing additional pumps.
