Document Description
This proposed Project involves annual maintenance removal of accumulated silt, sand, gravel, river cobble, washed-in vegetation (including trees, tree limbs, brush and litter), and anthropogenic debris from the intake channel with use of mechanized equipment. The Project will result in temporary impacts to 17 acres of Sacramento River winter-run Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha), and Sacramento River spring-run Chinook salmon (Oncorynchus tshawytscha). The Project is expected to result in incidental take of Sacramento River-run Chinook salmon, and the Central Valley spring-run Chinook salmon, which are designated as threatened and endangered species under the California Endangered Species Act. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
