Document Description
CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL for the development of an underwater recreation area to be used by divers and anglers. The 450-acre underwater recreation area would be located approximately 1.85 miles form the shoreline. The southerly boundary would start approximately 1.5 miles north of a line west of the Mission bay Channel. Its northern boundary would ectend to a line west of Law Street in Pacific Beach, for a total length of approximately two miles. The depth of the recreation area would range from 85 to 120 feet, The project would also include the placement of a 366-foot-long sunken Canadian Naval vessel, refered to as the HMCS Yukon, to a depth of approximately 100 feet below the surface of the water. The underwater recreation area would become a designated area for the placement of sunken vessels, such as the HMCS Yukon project.
