Document Description
The proposed project is the expansion of the Carson Regional Water Recycling Plant (Carson Plant). The project consists of expanding a water treatment facility which contains microfiltration and reverse osmosis treatment unites to removed suspended solids. This document is prepared as an Addendum to the West Basin Municipal Water District's "Carson Regional Water Facilities Mitigated Negative Declaration, SCH #1998071067" for which the District adopted Mitigated Negative Declaration in August 1998. This Addendum, combined with the original Initial Study and Final MND package (which includes responses to comments), serves as the basis for this second tier environmental review of WBMWD's decision to consider installing the proposed expanded nitrification treatment system to generate the additional product water to meet the proposed demand indentified by the District. As noted above, the proposed project will not exceed the original capacity of the Carson Plant. However, because the type of treatment units are not exactly the same as those identified in the 1998 Initial Study, and analyzed in the original MND documentation, this Addendum has been prepared.
