Present Land Use
Since the proposed project is a regional project, there are numerous land uses throughout the project area. These land uses include, but are not limited to, residential, commercial, and public facility. The land uses are within seven jurisdictions and are subject to those jurisdictions' land use regulations.
Document Description
The proposed action is an improvement to the existing transportation system in the central portion of Orange County between the City of Fullerton on the north, extending south through the Cities of Anaheim, Orange, Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, then east through the City of Irvine. The proposed action would construct a 28 mile rail transit system. Included within the 28 mile CenterLine project is a 15 mile segment that has been included in the Regional Transportation Plan. The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) intends to seek a federal transit grant to fund the selected locally preferred alternative. Alternatives being considered include the No Build, and three build alternatives including one elevated and two street level alternatives. All of the alternatives being evaluated consider the same amount of future bus and Metrolink service expansion and the same regional road improvements. Bus service routes and schedules will be reconfigured to operate as a feeder system for the CenterLine project.
