Document Description
As one of the ten active zones of the Alameda County Water Conservation and Flood Control District, Zone 7 has served eastern Alameda County and the Livermore-Amador Valley since 1957. The studies embodied in Zone 7's Water Supply Planning Program identified the potential need for a new water treatment plant in the Altamont Pass area north of Interstate Highway 580 and west of the South Bay Aqueduct. As one component of Zone 7's Water Supply Planning Program for the next 5 years, a new water treatment plant in this area was recommended to move Zone 7 toward a three-plant configuration that would provide up to 96 million gallons per day total for municipal and industrial needs through the year 2020.
