The project evaluated in the Belridge Water Storage District Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Zone 7 EIR is the implementation of a purchase agreement between Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Zone 7 and Belridge Water Storage District for the purchase of State Water Project contractual entitlements. Under the Agreement, Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Zone 7 purchases 10,000 acre-feet in permanent entitlement which Belridge holds contractual rights to as a member unit of the Kern County Water Agency. Kern County Water Agency has a long-term contract with the Department of Water Resources for water service delivery from the State Water Project. Zone 7 intends to use the water to supplement its current water supply to meet projected demand in the immediate near term.
