Document Description
The CDFG has issued an Agreement Regarding Proposed Stream Alteration (SAA # 5-246-00) ("agreement") to the County of Orange Public Facilities & Resources Department ("applicant") in conjuction with the applicant's proposal to alter the streambed to construct 3 crossings (12' x 35' each) on one stream in association with the Little Sycamore Canyon Staging Area project, impacting 1,260 feet of stream (0.03 acre). One crossing is over the existing stream. After this crossing, the applicant will re-contour the stream so that current sheet flow is directed into a created/realigned stream. The other two crossings are located over the realigned stream. This project includes the construction of a loop-road and parking lot to provide public access to the park. The site is approximately 4 acres, primarily vegetated with non-native grassland, with gnatcatcher-occupied coastal stage scrub habitat immediately adjacent to the southwest, and oak and sycamore woodlands immediately adjacent from the northwest through the southwest of the project. The applicant shall mitigate with creation/realignment of the stream, approximately 500 linear feet, and vegetate the stream, 0.4 acre, with native species (includes plant palettes B and D). The applicant shall also restore/enhance the disturbed areas adjacent to the stream, 2.2 acres of woodland and native grassland on the site, as desribed in the submitted documents.
