Document Description
Sacramento Regional Transit proposes to improve transit services in the US 5/Folsom Blvd. corridor in the City and the County of Sacramento and the City of Folsom, California. Alternatives evaluated icude a No-Build Alternative, a Transportation Systems Management (TSM) Alterative and a light Rail Transit (LRT) Alternative that would extend LRT service from the existing St. Rose of Lima Station in downtown Sacramento to the Amtrak Station; add double-tracking to existing single-track segments within the City of Sacramento; and extend LRT service from the existing Mather Field Station eastward to downtown Folsom. The LRT Alternative has been identified as the preferred alternative under the preferred investment strategy adopted in the U.S. 50 Corridor Major Investment Study. The LRT Alternative will be constructed to a downtown Folsom station and four future planned LRT stations will be constructed as soon as additional funding is identified.
