Document Description
The Capital Improvements and Well 34 Project consists of the construction and maintenance of the following: 1) Springer Avenue B-Zone Pipeline Project will install approximately 14,800 linear feet (LF) of 24-inch polyvinyl (PVC) pipeline and 1,300 LF of 12-inch diameter PVC pipeline. 2) Construct a 2.0 million gallon (MG) B-Zone Reservoir Tank. 3) Sunland Street C-Zone Pipeline Project will install approximately 2,000 LF of new 16-inch PVC pipeline. 4) Construct a 1.0 MG C-Zone Reservoir Tank. 5) Well Plant 34 Project will construct a 16-inch to 20-inch diameter water production well, with an anticipated depth of between 900 and 1,400 feet below ground surface. The project will result in impacts to the Mohave ground squirrel (Spermophilus mohavensis) and desert tortoise (Gopherus aggassizii), species which are designated as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The permit referenced above as issued by CDFG authorizes incidental take of the species under CESA that may result with implementation of the project.
