Document Description
The Project consists of the expansion of Wheeler North Reef (WNR) by approximately 210 acres (Phase 3) to satisfy California Coastal Commission (CCC) Permit No. 6-81-330-A. Work includes the mining, hauling and transport of rock from an upland source and barged to the WNR Phase 3 reef site offshore of San Clemente for near shore
disposal. The reef will be created through the placement of 150,000-175,000 tons of quarry rock on top of the sandy ocean bottom, which has a thickness of less than 0.6 meters.
