Document Description
The project evaluated in the Belridge Water Storage District Environmental Impact Report (EIR), Berrenda Mesa Water District EIR, and the Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Initial Study and Negative Declaration is the implementation of a purchase agreement between Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District and Kern County Water Agency for the purchase of State Water Project contractual entitlements. Under the Agreement, Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District purchases 4,025 acre-feet in permanent entitlement which Belridge and Berrenda Mesa hold contractual rights to as member units of the Kern County Water Agency. Kern County Water Agency has a long-term contract with the Department of Water Resources for water service delivery from the State Water Project. Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District intends to use the water to improve water supply reliability and to secure sufficient water entitlement to be able to provide the District's member cities with replacement water during State-determined below-normal water years.
