Document Description
The proposed project is to adopt a Specific Plan Line for a preferred alignment for a future east-west transportation corridor that would serve southern metropolitan Bakersfield and central Kern County. A new freeway is not anticipated to be needed until after the year 2020, but continued growth in the project area will result in future land use conflicts if an alignment is not reserved through a Specific Plan Line. This project would protect this preferred alignment from development to the extent allowed be law. The proposed action also requires an amendment to the Circulation Element of the Kern County General Plan.
