THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS THE LEASE FOR AS MANY AS 6 YEARS OF APPROX. 230 ACRES OF UC LAND AND THE USE DURING THE LEASE PERIOD OF THAT LAND FOR FARMING OPERATIONS. THE PROPERTY TO BE LEASED IS APRT OF 1000 ACRES THAT WERE ACQUIRED BY UC AT THE FORMER FORT ORD MILITARY INSTALLATION AS PART OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DEFENSE BASE CLOSURE AND REALIGNMENT ACT OF 1990.
