Document Description
Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) was issued a Compliance Order by the California Department of Health Services requiring that either body contact recreation in Contra Loma reservoir cease of that CCWD stop using the Reservoir for domestic water supply storage. The Proposed Project would comply with this order by permanently stopping body contact recreation in the Reservoir by 1999, and would replace certain recreation uses by constructing a swimming lagoon within the existing Reservoir footprint. The Proposed action preserves the historic water supply functions of the Reservoir while minimizing impacts on recreation.
